Draw What You Hear – English Game

parts of a page draw what you hear

Draw What You Hear is a fun activity for a private one to one class online, a full class in person, or as a fun way to practice English anytime with friends.

You don’t need to be a talented artist to play this game. But you might be surprised at how much vocabulary, and how many English skills you need. You’ll learn and reinforce prepositions of place and how to talk about the parts of page, how to ask questions, and practice listening and following directions.

HOW TO PLAY:

One player (or the teacher) selects a simple image, maybe from a book, a photo or off the Internet.

Don’t show it to anyone!

The player describes the image, and the other players try to draw it based on what they hear.

The player that is describing the image should start with things that are in the foreground and in the middle of the page.

Players can ask questions. The more questions you ask, the closer your drawing will be the original.

Everyone shows their drawings to the group. How similar are the drawings to the original?
