Let’s learn how to talk about years in English.
Check out the rules:

BC and AD or BCE and CE
BC stands for before Christ, and AD stands for anno Domini. These are used in general writing and speaking, though they are technically religious terms.
BCE and CE are used in scientific and academic circles, or by people who wish to use a secular alternative. They stand for before common era and common era.
Let’s practice!
Say the following years. Use them in sentences. Be careful to express time correctly. Are you talking about the past, the present, or the future?
1.) 2099
2.) 2004
3.) 548 BCE
4.) 1470
5.) 1500 AD
6.) 6002 BC
7.) 1806
8.) 2847
