Let’s do some tongue twisters!
Pronunciation in English is a challenge. Not only are there sounds that may be unfamiliar to you, the letter combinations are often very different from how they sound. However, with practice, you’ll learn to identify these letter combinations and speak clearly.
One way to improve your pronunciation, and sound like a native speaker is to practice tongue twisters.
Read the sentences, and select one to try. Listen to the audio a few times, and then repeat it slowly. Once you have the pronunciation, try to speed it up. Can you say the tongue twister quickly, three times in a row?
1.) The furry fox and the burly bear battle ferociously in the bleak forest.
2.) Valient bumble bees visit various blushing, bashful blooms.
3.) Lizards lounge lazily along the length of the low, limber leaves.
4.) George jokes with giant girrafs in a large, but average village.
