Reading

Hi! My name is Jenny.

I live in a small apartment with my mother, my father, my grandma, my two brothers, our dog, and my cat, Mittens. It’s really cramped! There isn’t enough space. There are two bedrooms on the second floor. Mum and dad have one, and my brothers have the other. They share the upstairs bathroom. There is a small living room, a kitchen, and another bathroom on the main floor, as well as a bedroom that grandma and I share.

The family wants to buy a bigger house, so we save some money every month. We almost have enough for the down payment. We go out and look at houses every weekend. There is one house that I love. It is in a nice, quiet neighbourhood, and there is a beautiful park across the street. There are four bedrooms, each with a private bathroom, and even a patio. I really hope that we can buy it.

I imagine relaxing on my bed with Mittens in my own room, where I can look out the window and see the park. I feel very happy and hopeful when I think about it.
