
Odd out out is a speaking activity to help you boost your vocabulary and speaking skills. Select the word in each list that you think doesn’t fit with the others. Why is this word the ‘odd one out’, or, on other words, why is this one different from the others?
There is no one correct answer! Let’s look at a couple of examples:
A.) tree, boot, leaf, earth
You could say that the odd one out is boot, because all of the other words are related to Nature.
You could say that the odd one out is earth, because all of the other words have four letters.
B.) excited, tomato, happy, beautiful
You could say the odd one out is tomato, because all of the others are adjectives.
You could say the odd one out is happy, because all of the other have three syllables.
