How do we form the Present Simple?

When do we use the Present Simple?

1.) We use it to talk about general truths and facts.

Water freezes at 0 degrees.

Thomas likes pizza.

2.) We use it for habits, repeated actions, and permanent situations.

We always visit my grandparents on Sundays.

I eat lunch at noon.

3.) We use it to talk about fixed schedules.

The train leaves at 6:00 PM.

Classes start next week. (Notice that we can even use it to refer to the future, if it a fixed time.)
