This tag question game is a fun way to practice using the correct question form with your classmates and friends. Can you think of a statement that can go with the tag?
HOW TO PLAY:
Before you play, decide if you would like to play using only the Past Simple, or if you would like to play with both the Past Simple and the Past Continuous. Then select the deck you want.
Players take turns flipping the cards and adding a statement that fits with the tag, to form tag questions.
Players can’t use a verb that has already been used in the game. (Obviously, you will use the verb ‘to be’ many times, but you can only use any other verb once per game.)
HOW TO PLAY AS A BOARD GAME:
It is easy to adapt this activity to play it as a board game. Use one device (such as a cell phone) to flip the cards, and select an interactive board game to play on the computer. Players must complete the tag questions in order to complete their turns.
